Lush Seanik Shampoo bar

Hellooo!
A quick review today! I've been intrigued by shampoo bars for a while but didn't know much about them. I saw they were selling for around the £5 mark in Lush and initially thought they lasted only a few washes so thought this was ridiculously expensive! However I got chatting to the lovely Lush sales assistant at the Cambridge store and found out a few interesting facts about the whole shampoo bar concept!

  • One shampoo bar contains the same amount of product as 3 of Lush's big shampoo bottles!
  • Depending on how often you wash your hair, one bar can last around 5 months!
  • There is no packaging so this is obviously better for the environment and easier for travelling.

I told the sales assistant my hair type and she recommended the Seanik bar because the sea salt is supposed the add volume while the lemon oil adds shine and the mimosa absolute, orange flower absolute and jasmine absolute fragrance gives hair a fresh feeling.

How to use: You can either rub the shampoo bar between your hands and then rub the lather through wet hair or just rub the bar straight on to your head! When I first used it I didn't think the lather was going to be enough to clean all my hair but it does! You can really tell how much shampoo is compact into the small bar, it lathers up through the hair so easily.

Lush Say: 'Leaves your hair buoyant. A shampoo bar with seaweed to soften and sea salt to give body. Our ocean-inspired bar is made with Irish moss and nori seaweed, which give a lovely mineral rich gel that softens the hair.'

I say: This is amazing, it's so different and fun to use, it smells so fresh and lovely and it makes my hair softer than it ever has been... ever. I usually wash my hair ever other day, sometimes less but the day I don't wash it I use dry shampoo. Since I've been using this I haven't needed any dry shampoo on day old hair, it's not oily it still looks fresh and shiny and it's great because I'm using less dry shampoo and I'm washing my hair less!

Note: If you are considering delving into the world of shampoo bars, remember they only last up to five months if you keep them dry whilst they are not in use. I keep mine on a shelf in the bathroom out of the way of the shower and it's lasting really well so far!

Have you tried any of Lush's shampoo bars?

Thanks for reading!

  1. These sound really good. The only thing putting me off is I'm worried they will dry up over time like a bar of soap. But reeaalllly want to try one after reading this!

    1. Hmm yeah I suppose that could happen because it's getting wet and drying out over and over again, I've had it for a few weeks and it's still nice and fresh at the moment! :) x

  2. I love them so much! I started using them about 6 months ago and I don't think i'll turn back now. It's handy to get a little shampoo bar tin they sell at LUSH to keep them from drying out or melting away too! :)

  3. I have tried this one too and really loved it but I got it wet and it was wasted :(. My bathroom doesn't have a window so it can be hard to find somewhere to store it.

Much love: http://razzledazzleandrocknroll.blogspot.co.uk/ If you fancy a follow or a nosey. xx

  5. I'm in love with their NEW! Shampoo Bar and I've been curious about Seanik but it's sadly not recommended for colored hair so I'll have to pass ):
