May Favourites

I thought I'd be adventurous and take outdoor photos to celebrate the beginning of Summer! Of course England being England, it's not consistently hot yet, more random sunny days followed by weird hail storms, so I was lucky to get these without being rained on...
I've got quite a few things on my love list for May, read on for mini reviews and links, and of course more daisies!

I bought the little version of this a while ago because I read somewhere that Rose and Lavender are good for calming sensitive skin, and it worked so well that I went back and bought the big bottle! It's really nice and gentle, I use it morning and night after I've taken my make up off and it really reduces redness and soothes sensitive skin. I loves it! (Name that reference!)

I stocked up on a few of these when they were on offer for 3 for £10 at Sainsburys, and I forgot how much I LOVE them. This version which is a deep conditioning treatment for dull hair makes my hair sooooo soft! I've got blond-y/brown hair so it doesn't make it mega shiny but it's definitely more sleek and less frizzy naturally when I use this!

I remember buying this when it first came out a few years back and it's imprinted itself in my smell memory! It reminds me of summer so I always make sure I save it for sunny days to preserve that nice memory. It's so fresh and floral, if you like that kind of scent, go and have a sniff in boots and I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do.

This will be a forever favourite but this month, the shadows I've been loving in particular are Liar and Factory. I love using a wash of Liar with Factory underneath my eye and then  using my brown stila smudge stick. This takes me 2 minutes to do so it's great for everyday work makeup when I'm rushing around trying not to be late!

After using dry shampoo on my hair it tends to get quite dry and damaged, but when I spritz this on the ends it really helps to rehydrate it and make it look more healthy! Its smells lovely and lasts ages because you only need a tiny amount. When I was looking for the link to put above I also found out it can be used on skin as well as hair!
Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs
Now that it's a bit warmer, tights aren't really appropriate any more so I've been forced to bare my pasty white legs! This has been my best buddy, it's so easy to apply and I only use the tiniest bit so it lasts ages!

I have been using this all through May and have definitely seen a difference in my nails, I apply two coats and also apply my Burt's bees cuticle cream and my nails look better than they've ever looked! They do still get flaky occasionally after I've painted them with a colour but after reapplying this, they are strong again. I loves it.

I love breaking out the bright lipstick for Summer, and this is one of my all time favourites. It's such a pretty bright pink, with a lovely glossy sheen. The packaging is so luxurious and I just love it.

I do sometimes wear orange lip shades in Autumn but I think they look best in Summer! This is a really bright orange which can be applied heavily for a bold look or lightly for a subtle look. I've been wearing it with a bit of bronzer and black liner for a really summery fresh faced look.
So that's all for May! What have you been loving this month?

Valentines Nails

It's Valentines day tomorrow and I don't think I know many people who actually love Valentines day (apart from my friend Dani who once gave out little Thorntons chocolate hearts to everyone in our seminar at uni!) A lot of people dread it because they haven't got a 'date' and a lot of couples don't enjoy the whole mushy teddy bears and lovey dovey cards thing so I've found it's usually not a day many people look forward to. Although in recent years I've found myself liking it not because of my boyfriend (sorry Craig) but because of everything that surrounds it. Valentines Fashion, Valentines Make-up, Valentines Food and Alcohol, Valentines Television! All the things I like right there so what's not to look forward to! So who cares if you've got someone to spend it with or not, Enjoy all that the commercialisation of Valentines day has to offer! And if you really hate it then don't worry, Easter is soon and you can stuff your face with chocolate.

I thought I'd contribute to the Valentines nail art I've seen taking over Instagram and show you mine! I love this shade of pink by Essie called Cute as a Button. This was super easy to do as well because the nail polish brush is rounded at the end, so I did a diagonal left sweep and a diagonal right sweep and it was done! This look may be improved if my nails were more pointy or even rounder but hey ho what you do. I used Soap and Glory Pink Soda for the base (Which I got in this set that is now out of stock but you can use any pinky base) and sealed it with Sally Hansen Insta-dry Topcoat.

If you've created any Valentines themed nail art do link me to it here or on twitter (georgiabeeee) or Instagram (xgeorgia) I'd love to see it!

What's your fave or least fave thing about Valentines day?
What are you getting up to tomorrow?

How to | Sparkly Christmassy Nails

You can also do another layer of the Sally Hansen clear polish as a top coat but I didn't because I don't like having too many layers on as it takes ages to dry and I end up smudging it!
