Sometimes the people you thought would be easiest to buy for, turn out to be the most tricky. Especially if you leave them to the last minute and everything you thought of has sold out in the Black Friday sales... If this is what you've done, don't fear, here are some new ideas for your pals and siblings.

Hopefully you've been able to get some ideas and if all else fails chocolate is always a winner!

What to wear to work

When you reach your early twenties, I feel like it's normal to have a bit of a fashion crisis... if you went to uni you will have, like me, spent 80% of the time in pyjamas, 10% of the time in fancy dress and the other 10% in something you just threw on to run to a lecture. So after three years of this, you're thrown into a job where you are expected to look professional and sophisticated...
This isn't a year 10 work experience placement, your black school trousers and your mum's blouse won't cut it this time!
So I've made a list of tips to share so you can manage your workwear style without taking as many wrong turns as me... enjoy!

Please note...I had a dilemma, I couldn't take the pictures at the end of the day because I look all tired and flat, so I had to quickly snap them at the beginning of the day, hence the bad mirror selfies... I hope that the outfit inspiration makes up for the bad photos ;)
I don't have to dress mega-smart at my office, so if you need to be suited and booted I'm sorry, I guess grab those black trousers and hope for the best...

TIPS
  • It can be hard to think of five work outfits, the trick is to mix and match. As long as you have some smart staple pieces, you can wear them with anything to smarten up the overall look.
  • I think monochrome is always a winner if you need to look smart, a simple black dress or a white shirt will work wonders.
  • Footwear is important to finish of the look. I'm not saying you have to totter around in massive heels all day, ankle boots and brogues work too... but heels always look good. ( I realise I have flat sandals on in one outfit but it was like 30 degrees that day, I wanted to be comfortable...)
  • Don't wear mini skirts... its awkward. I speak from experience.
  • Try different hair styles. My hair is wavy and untamed naturally so I usually pin it back to make it look like an actual hair style... If I want it tied back I often do this style, its really easy to do and looks pretty.
And then forget all about it for casual Friday! ;)
That's all my tips! The links are attached to the picture :)

Zara Printed Jacket | OOTD

I added this kimono to my wishlist here a few months ago and have seen it EVERYWHERE since. Its like it was calling out to me "buy me Georgia I'd look so nice with ripped jeans or cut off shorts or on the beach on holiday..." Who am I to refuse something that speaks so much sense?
I find sizes in Zara very odd, I'm different everytime I go in there, I got this in a small and it fits really nicely. I think as I'm only 5"3 if I'd got a bigger size it would have dragged along the floor!
I want to work out a way to wear this for work, maybe with a leather skirt? What do you think? Any ideas very welcome!

Spring/ it's still quite cold OOTD

Now that I have a job, I have had to get back in to the swing of coordinating nice outfits everyday. Being a student for three years and then in an almost constant state of pyjamas when I was job hunting, my dress sense has been quite relaxed for a while. So when I heard the good news and then went to look in my wardrobe to plan a first day outfit, I was faced with a distinct lack of smart 'office' wear! Of course I've used that as an excuse to do lots of shopping :)
I call this outfit, 'spring is in the air...along with quite a lot of wind and rain so don't ditch the tights yet...' What do you think?
Hope you're all having a good week and looking forward to yet another Bank Holiday! What's everyone got planned?

Lace, backpacks and fishtail plaits

I've been finding myself dressing a bit more 'grungy' lately, I think I'm either trying to relive my teen years or trying to be an extra on Mad Fat Diary. I even went as far to rip my own jeans!
Luckily it went better than when my 13 year old self attempted it...
They are quite old and faded Topshop Leigh Jeans which I never wore anymore because they'd seen better days, who would have known cutting holes in the knees could give them a new lease of life! I think the lacy top from H&M makes it a bit more feminine and the backpack from Primark adds even more 90s grungy-ness.
I discovered this hair style when I was attempting some pretty milkmaid braids like this but failed because my hair is too short! But I played around and found out I could manage this pretty hairstyle which I shall call, 'milkmaid braids that have fallen down your head'... or something.
It's really easy, you just separate your hair messily into two sections, and do to fishtail plaits starting just behind your ears. Then twist them backwards and cross them over, tucking the ends of the hair under, and pin in place. I like it to look messy so I pulled at the roots and tousled it until I was happy with it and then sprayed it with hairspray and that's it!

Tweet or Instagram me pictures if you give this a try :)

Have a nice weekend!

Whiter shade of pale...

Hellooo!
I've been seeing white bags everywhere recently and loving them! They're quite girlie and pretty and I think they would look great with a monochrome outfit or even to contrast a bright one! Only problem is I'd imagine they'd get pretty dirty in day to day life so if I give in and buy one I may have to invest in one of these!

Which is your favourite?
What do you think of this trend?

Spring Haul!

Df8nhF on Make A Gif, Animated Gifs

Hello!
I went to Westfield White City which, if you didn't know, is a magical place where every shop you could want (except primark actually) is under one roof so you can kiss goodbye to any money you may have...

I bought a few bits for my holiday and just a few other bits just to treat myself! Brace yourselves...

First stop Boots!
Sun cream is a holiday essential and Hawaiian tropic is half price in Boots so I got factor 20 for the first few days and 15 for the last few days along with some after sun! I love the look of the silk hydration and they smell quite nice too! I also went for it and bought Liz Earle skin repair moisturiser which was rather expensive but I'm liking it a lot so far so I think that it's going to be worth it! Fingers crossed...

Next Stop Hollister!
I thought I'd treat myself to a bit of Tippers Beach Body Mist because it smells amazing, like sweets! And I thought it would be nice to take on holiday instead of lugging around perfume bottles.

To Lush!
I love the Lush shampoo and conditioner bars anyway and was due to repurchase some and I thought they would be great to take on holiday for me and my boyfriend to use! I got the Seanik shampoo bar, see my review here, and the Jungle conditioner bar! I also picked up the Tea tree toner water because I loved the Eau Roma water and the Breath of Fresh Air and I also love Tea tree products for the skin so thought I'd try this one this time.

Last Stop Topshop...
Topshop have some beautiful things in their spring summer collections and I decided to take full advantage of my student discount card as it runs out in June! I bought these white scallop hem shorts, which I'll definitely wear on holiday and perhaps with some tights and a white blazer to work for a matchy matchy look!
I also got this skull print scarf which I'm going to take on holiday for the evenings and look at the pattern it's sooooo pretty! They had it in pink too but I thought grey would go with more!
I also bought this vvverry cute Denim Pinafore dress and two little crop tops in grey and black which will be perfect for summer! They go great with the pinafore and also the shorts!

That's all folks!

Have you started your summer shopping yet?
