How I'd style | Floral cami dress

Hello! How are you?
I've recently booked a little holiday to Italy with Craig for the end of May and I'm realllllly looking forward to seeing some sun! I've been online holiday shopping in excitement, I found this really pretty dress and pictured wearing it 90's style with nude lips and black accessories! What do you think?

Who's looking forward to summer holidays?
Got any plans yet?

Thanks for reading!

Next Insider Exclusive

I have something a bit special for you today! I recently got the chance to ask Next some questions about their SS13 range! I couldn't wait to share their answers with you lot so here you are...

Have you got any tips for transitioning my wardrobe from winter to spring?
  • Invest in one of this season’s key jackets. A colourful leather one is a stylish way to add a colour pop to your AW12 favourites. Other jacket trends include the bomber, the structured jacket and the suit jacket.
  • Dig out your jeans! They’ll keep you warm through the colder months. Then come summer, even darker jeans can be brought up to date with pastel tops or broderie camis. Or if you’re looking to invest in a new pair, we love the dip dyed styles lately which come in classic blue or military inspired khaki.
  • Phase in some summery trousers and wear with wedge trainers or cuffed sandals for a sports luxe feel. In the Pretty Optic collection for Summer 2013, we’ve got some gorgeous fitted trousers in peach, hot pink and ivory which could easily freshen up the darker berry and navy shades from Winter.
  • Blue is the colour of the season, so embrace it! Invest in a blue dress and layer up with knits, tights and boots. Then in summer - dare to bare with some cute gladiator sandals! (See accompanying image of Arizona Muse in daisy lace blue dress and heels)

My favourite trend this spring/summer is monochrome, which pieces from your collection would you recommend?
  • If monochrome is your thing, you’ll really love the Summer Modern Tribes collection as well as the Spring story Mono. The Modern Tribes range really plays with mixing up texture, clashing prints and adding highlights of colour to the monochrome trend. Although it is a tailoring story, there are some really versatile pieces in there which could really be dressed up or down to suit the occasion.
  • We are totally head over heads with this Zebra Print Skirt, which could easily be worn in the office, to a meal with the girls or for a summer soiree. Bringing together the monochrome, animal print and embellishment trends, here Arizona Muse wears it with a simple white shirt with cut out detailing.

  • Another style staple is the black and white linen top in an aztec inspired print. This again can be worn in so many ways - with some skinny fit chinos, a smart black pencil skirt, your favourite jeans  or even with shorts for a festival-feel.

Wasn't that fab! I got some great tips, hope you did too! There are so many lovely pieces for spring summer, just wish this horrible weather would go away and we could start dressing for spring! Here are my picks from the collection... what do you think?

My favourite pieces from the SS13 collection

Hope you enjoyed this different type of post!

What do you think of the collection?
Which spring/summer pieces have you got saved for when the sun decides to show up?

Have a Lush Easter!

Hello! How are you?
It's almost Easter! I actually still get really egg-cited! (hehehe) My mum is a primary school teacher so always likes to do creative things for every single type of holiday! She's hides chocolate eggs all round the house hoping to strike up an easter egg hunt with me and my 18 year old sister...I think that my boyfriend Craig is quite looking forward to it though!
Anyway, I wanted to post about my favourite type of Easter eggs, Lush ones! You all know I'm a big Lush fiend and I really love all the different ranges they do at all the different times of the year, it makes me feel very seasonal! Below is the Easter collection! Enjoy...
Drop this egg-squisite* bath bomb into a tub full of warm water and enjoy wallowing in the sweet as candy waters. A superb Easter treat for big and little kids alike, Fluffy Egg is a must have for fans of all things sweet, too. (all descriptions from Lush.co.uk)

It’s a little-known fact that when the Easter Bunny’s done delivering all those eggs, he likes to kick back and relax in a luxurious bubbly bath. Now he can do it in style with our Carrot reusable bubble bar!
It may look like a crunchy carrot, but luckily it doesn’t smell like one (we didn’t think a root vegetable perfume would be too popular with those of you who aren’t Easter Bunnies!). Instead, Shakira made a brand new fragrance for our Carrot, using fruity essential oils of buchu, which has a lovely blackcurranty scent, together with lemon and bergamot to give this carrot an unexpectedly tropical touch.

Give these giant eggs a shake – what’s that sound? A mini bath ballistic chick or bunny inside the egg! Must’ve been an immaculate eggception… The Lush inventors have really egg-celled themselves creating this fantastic, innovative, unpackaged Easter gift. A giant bath bomb egg with a secret surprise inside that rattles when you shake it! You could say they’ve cracked it (once again, so sorry for the terrible puns)

Last year we first saw our Bunny Knot-Wrap hop on to our shelves, and now he’s back and even bigger than before, with 7 baths worth of limited edition Lush treats inside! Unwrap this bunny to find a Fluffy Egg and feel like you’ve won the Easter egg hunt! Plus you’ll find the excellent Carrot re-usable bubble bar; it keeps us entertained to know that when you unwrap the bunny you’ll find a carrot in his tummy!

Everything’s bright about this bubble bar, from the swirling orange and red colour to the juicy citrus fragrance. Simon calls this scent ‘Triple Orange’, and it’s easy to see why – close your eyes and you can imagine you’re lying in a sunny orange grove (without the danger of falling fruit landing on your head!) If you prefer to keep your eyes wide open, you’ll enjoy the sight of vivid orange water and mountains of foamy bubbles.

Mexican piñatas are colourful model animals that children smash to reveal hidden sweeties inside. It’s a lot of fun, and we wanted to create our own version for the bath. We chose a cheerful chicken and called her Henata! Smash her against the side of your bath for an explosion of wonderful surprises – a mini ballistic egg, and a blooming big bunch of soap paper flowers.

A whole truckle of this looks like a giant lawn studded with Easter Eggs ready to be found. You don’t have to look very hard though – there are loads of them – making this a very impressive-looking soap!
Easter Egg Hunt is fragranced with the same raspberry perfume as our Mother’s Day Mumkin bubble bar. The sweet fruitiness makes this soap a brilliant Easter gift for anyone who’s trying to avoid chocolate this year. You could even try hiding pieces around the house for your family to find on Easter Sunday - it’d be an Easter Egg Hunt Hunt!

That's all! If my mum decided her Easter egg hunt will involve these kind of Easter treats I'll definitely join in the fun! Although Craig would be very disappointed, he's looking forward to the chocolate!

Blog birthday!

Today is the first birthday of my little space on the internet! One year ago today I sat down and decided I'd write a little post about... god knows what, to absolutely no one! I started by forcing my mum and sister to read my posts because no one else was and now all of you read and comment all the time which makes me a very happy lady indeed!

I think starting this blog is one of the best decisions I've ever made, it's helped me understand the world of blogging and pr which landed me my internship at Asos over Christmas, which in turn led me to my next internship at Oasis which I start in June! I really enjoy it and I hope I can continue for a long time!

Thanks for reading all my random babbling for a whole year!

P.s. My giveaway has ended today! Thank you for all of you who entered, the winner is Rebecca Phillips! I've emailed you to arrange the postage! Congrats :) xx

Guest Post | Lucinda Bounsall

So we know we might be getting a little ahead of ourselves here but all this snow and Baltic conditions have got us dreaming of warmer climes. We’ve found ourselves sat at our desks shivering and daydreaming about warm sun on our backs, longer days and generally just good vibes that the summer tends to bring! To be honest it’s been so long since we’ve seen blue sky that we don’t know if we would even recognise it if we saw it. We’ve been looking ahead at desperately bleak calendars and optimistically pencilling in vacation slots, tentatively whispering about jaunts abroad as though if we talk to loud we might scare off the summer!
It’s one of our favourite subjects, no matter what time of year, everyone loves a summer holiday and we’ve all been working so hard! It’s been a long cold winter and we’re looking forward to getting our warm weather wardrobes out of hibernation in preparation. So whether you’re planning a short city break, a backpacking trek around Europe or a romantic sojourn to the City of Love then make sure you have a read through our ultimate guide to summer essentials that any fashion savvy globetrotter should know!

When we were younger summer holidays meant taking a trip with the family to the beach and whether you hit up Skegness or the Seychelles it would be sure to guarantee some of your happiest childhood memories. Beach holidays are still up there in our ideal summer pastimes regardless of whether you’re going with friends or family. Visiting some of the most sought after beach destinations can be extremely costly so if it’s not quite in your budget to jet off to Barbados or Cuba then there are still some fantastically impressive beaches a little closer to home right here in Europe.
Some of the top destinations to visit if you’re planning on getting your tan on next to the sea include the Greek islands, the south coast of France and the Canary Islands, all of which have beautiful beaches that come at a price tag that won’t leave you with an empty wallet.

The essentials to take on a beach holiday might seem pretty obvious but it seems to be some sort of unwritten rule that every time you leave the country you will always forget at least one thing! Try writing a checklist before you go away to avoid this happening.

1.       Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray
2.       Mara Hoffman Bandeau Bikini
3.       Hawaiian Tropic Tanning Oil
4.       Nina Ricci Sunglasses
5.      Miu Miu Bow Embellished Bathing Suit
6.       Me&mee Cotton Canvas
7.       Maslin Zebra Towel
8.       Fatface Flipflops

If you’re looking forward to spending a weekend away with someone in particular then there really isn’t anywhere that compares to Paris, after all its not called the City of Love for nothing! A beautifully scenic city there is certainly no shortage of things to keep you entertained in Paris, from visiting the beautiful Scare Coeur or the Eifel Tower to dining in a fantastically quaint bistro in Montmartre you won’t be bored but that’s only if you need entertaining at all!

1.       La Perla Underwear
2.       Hermes Clutch
3.       Valentino Leather Dress
4.       Wallpaper Guide to Paris
5.       AERIN lipstick
6.       Chanel Les Exclusifs
7.       Saint Laurent Heels

A city break is the perfect option if you don’t have a lot of time to take off, a bank holiday is the ideal time to get away from everything and immerse yourself in a new culture. New York is one of the most popular city break destinations but if you feel that you need a bit more time to explore such an exciting city then yet again there are some fantastic locals right here in Blighty. You might think holidaying in the UK sounds dull but there are some fantastic cities to visit including Brighton, London, Edinburgh and Bath all lovely areas and you won’t even need your passport!

1.       Where Chefs Eat: A Guide
2.       Lomography Diana Mini Lomo camera
3.       Essie nail polish in Poppi
4.       Boucle Teak Coat
5.       J Crew sunglasses
6.       See By Chloe Weekend Bag
7.       Opening Ceremony Boots
8.       Clinique ‘Super City Block’

Girls weekends away are one of the most fun you’ll ever have and the best thing about travelling abroad with girls is that you can all swap clothes so the wardrobe possibilities are endless! Make sure if you’re planning a fully packed trip that includes more than one or two cocktails don’t forget to pack the painkillers for those inevitable hangovers. Also don’t expect others to provide the sunscreen because you always end up with none and trust us lobster red is not in this season! Some of the best holiday destinations to let your hair down with your girlfriends includes party islands such as Ibiza and cities with the added benefit of a beach such as Barcelona.

1.       Mellissa Odabash Cheeta Bikini
2.       Lulu Rose Flower Garland
3.       J.Crew Necklace
4.       Diana+ Mr Pink Camera
5.       Topshop Huey2 Gladiators
6.       Vintage denim cut-offs
7.       Morgan Tank
8.       Monki Sunglasses
9.       Banana Boat Sunscreen

Wherever you’re off to this year then make sure you get hold of all of your holiday essentials, if you have a different bikini each summer season then try not to spend too much as it will essentially go to waste. Try not to scrimp too much on the things that you will get the most wear out of and will use year after year such as sunglasses or a really good beach bag or weekend holdall.
If you’ve not decided on where you’re visiting then why not do a little bit of research, Pinterest is fantastic to pull together all your ideas. Why not make a little DIY holiday fund piggy bank to put all of your spare coins in, you’d be surprised how much you can save; you might not manage to afford flights to the big Apple but you can put it towards a couple of pool-side cocktails at least!

So there you have it, a short but hopefully inspiring little guide to everything holidaying, we can’t wait for all of that sun induced vitamin D; bring on the summer!
Where are you going this summer? What tips do you have for holidaying abroad?
This blog post was written by Lucinda Bounsall who works at farfetch.com

I love everything Lucinda has picked, it's definitely got me in the mood for summer! I'll be taking note when packing for my little romantic break to Italy in May! Can't wait :) Make sure you check out Farfetch.com for all these pieces and more!

Nice gal Nasty Gal...

Hello! How are you?
I LOVE Nasty Gal and have scrolled through the pages for a good few years now admiring all their beautiful clothes but never bought anything! But I was doing a bit of dissertation avoidance (a.k.a. online window shopping) and I found out they have included a conversion into GBP on the website so getting an estimate of prices is easier and also shipping from the US isn't as expensive as I thought it would be. (Around a fiver!) So it's safe to say I have a new obsession! Here is my wishlist so far...

What do you think?
Which are your fave bits?

Thanks for reading!

Review | Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint

Hello! How are you?
I love it when new 'effects' nail polishes come out and always want to try them as soon as I can, when I saw this I expected a gel like formula and was curious to see how it would work so picked one up for £3.99 in Boots in the shade Prickly Pear! (Buy here)

I was a bit disappointed when I found that it's no different from a normal nail polish, it's just a little bit shinier when it dries but I still really love the colour and Barry M Nail polishes are so cheap you can't really go wrong! The picture on the left shows one coat and the right hand side shows two which was opaque enough for me!

It also doesn't last very well, (my nails always chip and smudge really easily anyway because I'm impatient to let them dry properly!) but this was chipped on every nail after 3 days which wasn't brilliant!

Overall, I like the colour and the opacity, it does have a really good shine to it and the price is great! But it does chip really easily and I wouldn't say its different enough to be classed as an effects nail polish.

Have you tried this?
What did you think?
What's your favourite shade from the range?

Thanks for reading!
