I've been shopping...

So I've been a bit loose with my student loan lately, but lets not think about the debt and how I'm going to buy food for the next three months and all look at the lovely things I've bought, yayyy!

Did you get any bargs in the sales?

Favourite spring trends!

Hellooo! How are you all? I'm back at uni now with a crazy 3 hour a week timetable, £3000 a year for this ay? :o So I have loads of posts planned and should have time to write them now! This one is about my favourite trends for spring and I've made you some pretty little pictures to illustrate! Hope you enjoy :)
This is a trend that is constantly good, and all the new prints and styles for spring are great if you aren't too keen on colour!

I love both of these jackets and the whole trend! I'm a bit too girly to pull off anything too grungy, but the mix of tough biker and soft pastel is perfect!
If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen that I recently bought the missguided hand sweatshirt! I love it, it's different and quirky and looks great tucked into a pretty skirt!
I've been seeing these EVERYWHERE lately! They are big for ss13 and the contrast panel is very flattering! Perfect with heels for a night out or with a jumper during the day :)

Which trends are you loving for ss13?

Recipe | Spinach and Ricotta Haddock

Hey! I've got something a bit different for you today! :)
My New Years resolution was to start trying to get more fruit and veg in my diet, I'm sure it's a very common one but I've noticed while being at uni I hardly eat any fruit and only a small bit of veg every week. So I've been doing this mostly by having salads for dinner and also snacking on fruit and greek yogurt instead of chocolate! And I've really got in to looking up recipes and trying out new meals, so I thought I'd try out one of my own and see how it goes down! This is quite filling because of the nuts and fish but it's only 300 calories :)

Ingredients
Haddock, Ricotta, Spinach, Rocket, Pepper, Tomato, Olives, Cashews, Salad Dressing.

Bake the haddock at 200 Celsius for 25 minutes (of follow the instructions on whatever pack you get!)

When it's finished, take the haddock out of the packet, spread over one tablespoon of ricotta and sprinkle chopped spinach leaves on top and bake again for ten more minutes.

Chop up peppers, tomatoes, olives, cashews and whatever else you want to add! Mix together with rocket and spinach leaves and drizzle over your salad dressing. I used Sainsburys low fat honey and mustard!

Get the haddock out of the oven and lay it on top of the salad and serve!

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know if you want to see more!
Also let me know if you try it out!

Review | Burts Bees Cuticle Cream

So I bought this recently because my nails have been really bad since the start of winter! The cold weather dries out my skin and nails and they just need some extra tlc! I love Burts Bees products and had heard some good things about this Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream and it was only £5.99 so I thought I'd give it a try! (Buy here)

'For the intensive care and moisturization of dry cuticles and brittle nails Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme is ideal. The strength and health of nails is dependent on healthy cuticles. Use daily rubbing a small amount on the nail and gently pushing back the cuticle.' (Burts Bees)

First off, it smells lovely! Lemony as you may have guessed, quite strong but it doesn't last ages so it's not too overpowering. It's quite a thin consistency, much like the Burts Bees Miracle Salve. You only need a tiny bit on each nail so it should last for a while!
It's very moisturizing and is slowly repairing my cuticles. I use it everytime I paint my nails so maybe once a week, I may try using it everyday to speed up the results!

I really like using this and it's definitely improving the condition of my cuticles so I'd recommend it to anyone who's had the same problem over winter!

Have you tried any cuticle creams?
What did you think?

Review | Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara

Hello!
How are you? Hope you're all having a good week!

I have a review I've really been looking forward to doing today, it's Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara. It's been around for ages and I've seen so many reviews and always meant to try it but never got round to buying it. My mum knew I wanted it and got it for me for Christmas so I've finally tried it and I'm so glad I did!

I've always been perplexed by how I put makeup on in the morning, and look in the mirror only a few hours later to find black smudges under my eyes! I thought it was eyeshadow dropping down so stopped putting it on the bottom, still there. Tried wearing no eyeliner on the bottom, that wasn't it! And then I realised that it was mascara rubbing off of my bottom lashes onto my undereye, so I gave up and stopped wearing mascara on the bottom altogether.
Then I tried this and it is AMAZING. It's the only mascara that doesn't leave me with massive black smudges under my eyes after a few hours, needless to say that's not a good look! It looks so nice and lasts all day, it's definitely something I'll be repurchasing! (Thanks Mum!)

It's so cute and small! The pattern on the bottle is so pretty just like most Clinique products and the wand is really diddy, perfect for getting the small lashes that big wands cant reach. I apply this to the top of my bottom lashes, near the base and don't apply all the way down (because they are quite long and it looks odd!) then I also use it to coat the smaller lashes in the corners of my eye on the top lid. It's a lovely formula and doesn't dry out, it lasts better than any other mascara I've used. I'll apply it at around 7 in the morning and it will still be in place when I get in at 7 in the evening! I can't rave about it enough!

£11 may seem a lot for such a tiny bottle but it's definitely worth the money!

Have you tried this?
What did you think?

Review | Vivienne Westwood Let it Rock

I haven't ever done a perfume review because I'm not the best at describing smells but I got a few really nice ones for Christmas and thought I'd give it a go! Apologies if my descriptions make no sense, if you think I'm talking rubbish just look at the pictures of the pretty bottles!

'Vivienne Westwood's Let it Rock is an Oriental which opens with top notes of bergamot and freesia, which lead to a jasmine heart and dry down to a base of amber and patchouli.'

Yeah... that's wasn't my writing unfortunately, I wish! Prepare for my less eloquent description...

This isn't a new perfume, I think it was released in 2007 but I have never seen it before now! My Nan bought it for me for Christmas, she knows I love Vivienne Westwood and it was such a thoughtful present :) First off I love the bottle! It's really thin and tall and the lid is the iconic orb! The glass has a sheen to it which in the light, reflects rainbow colours and the name is printed down the front of the bottle as if written in lipstick.

It's quite a strong fragrance and lasts all day, I only put a tiny bit on as I think it could be quite over powering if you used a lot. I'd describe it as a more grown up perfume, it's more musky than floral. I'm not sure what patchouli smells like but I can definitely recognise the jasmine!

It's a really mature scent and definitely more of a special occasion perfume than one you wear every day!

Very.com stock it, take a look here.

New year's eve 2012 outfit!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Bit late I know, I've been such a busy bee since last weekend so haven't had time for any posts! But I wore a really pretty dress that I got from Asos on New Year's eve so if you're still interested in last weekend's festivities then read on! (If you're so over New Year's outfit posts now, I do apologize, come back tomorrow and I'll have a review of some sort!)

My pals Nadine and Hannah and I posing for a picture in the Loo, classy ay!
Nadine (left) 's dress is from Oasis and Hannah (Middle) 's skirt is from Asos!
And I'm wearing THE dress, Asos, black heels, Daisystreet, and studded clutch bag, Primark.

I lovvvved wearing this dress, it's so pretty and different! I wouldn't usually wear something bodycon but actually felt quite comfortable and loved the mesh panel in the middle!

We spent this new year visiting Hannah in Cambridge where she goes to Uni and went to The Junction which was fab! AND they had £2 drinks so needless to say, we all saw the New Year in quite well!

What did you get up to for New Year?

December Faves!

Hello!
It's time for December favourites! Yes 6th Jan is actually the time it's meant to be done you see, I'm not actually a week late! Anyway, I'm really sad December is finished! Although I am glad the Christmas decorations will come down today because every time I see them it reminds me Christmas is over for another year :( So here's some of my favourite things from my favourite month of the year! Hope you enjoy :)

Models own Ibiza mix
This has been so nice to wear over Christmas but I think I'll deffo still wear it in the new year, sparkles never go out of fashion! This has big and little bits of glitter in as well so it spreads out over the nail really nicely and looks great!

Dawn French - A Tiny Bit Marvellous
I read this whole book in a week over Christmas travelling to and from London on the train. It's such a good book, Dawn French writes it so well! It's actually hilarious, so much so that I was laughing out loud on the train at one point, awks. I'd really recommend reading it!
Topshop Lipstick in Nevada
I've been wearing this a lot over December in the daytime, it's a really nice light nude colour which is also a bit pinky. I love the packaging of Topshop lipsticks too!

Vivienne Westwood Flower Orb Necklace
I got this for my 21st which was near the beginning of December and I haven't taken it off since, (apart from when I go out drinking because I can't be trusted with something so dainty when under the influence of alcohol.)

Zara bag
I love this bag, it's like Mary Poppin's suitcase! It fits so much stuff in it! My boyfriend picked it up the other day and looked shocked at how heavy it is, and I had to then explain to him why it is essential that I carry around a notepad, a diary, a book, a mirror, my purse, coins lining the bottom, my makeup bag... hairspray... 10,000 receipts.... nail polish...empty glasses case...

I have also been loving watching Vlogmas on Youtube this month especially Jim Chapman's Channel! He's hilarious and so excited about everything!

I'll leave you with my fave song on my fave album for December, Rihanna's Unapologetic!

What have been your fave things over December?
