What's in my makeup bag?

Hello! How are you?
I did a what's in my bag post a while back and you all seemed to like it so I thought I'd continue the theme and do a what's in my makeup bag post! (I've also put links in to any products that I have reviewed!)

I travel to and from uni quite a lot so take most of my makeup with me in this massive black studded bag which I got a Umberto Giannini hair set in over Christmas. It's big enough for everything so I rarely empty it!

Wake me up foundation | Benefit Porfessional | Nip and Fab CC cream and eye fix | Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer

Painted Lady Feliner | Bourjois Liquid Liner | Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara | Lush Eyes Right Mascara | Benefit BAD gal lash Mascara | Accessorize Bronzer in Monaco and Blush in Starlet

Accessorize Lovely Day Palette | Stila In the Light Palette | HD Brows kit | No7 eyelash curlers | Lush Bubblegum Lip scrub | Revlon lipstick in coral | Kate Moss lipstick in shade 08 | Balance me otto intensive lip salve

Real Techniques Core Collection | Real Techniques Stippling Brush | Some various eye brushes that I can't remember where they are from | No7 Tweezers

That's all I have in my massive makeup bag! Quite a lot I know but it's everything I can't leave at home or at uni!

I hope you enjoyed this post, leave me links to any like this that you have done as I love having a little nose in other peoples makeup bags!

Thanks for reading :)

Lush, Clinique, Boots, Motel and Primark haul!

Hello!! How are you?
I've been naughty and spent money I shouldn't have been spending! oops, but the plus side is, I bought some lovely bits and I get to show them to you allllll...

Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer
I think this is my fourth tube, this stuff is amazing.

The Comforter Bubble Bar
This is my all time favourite thing from Lush! It smells amazing, it's like blackcurrant and sugar and all sweet things AND it lasts five baths!

Veganese Conditioner
I needed a new conditioner and I thought I'd give a Lush one a go because I don't think I've been disappointed by a product yet! I just got the 100g bottle to test it out before I commit to a big one, so I'll let you know how it goes!

9 to 5 cleansing lotion
I am trying to edge away from my Liz Earle cleanse and polish slowly but surely, I'm not as big of a fan as everyone else tends to be! It's lovely but if I forget to use it for one day my skin goes mad... I think it's got a terrible addiction. Not ideal and rather pricey, so I bought this gentle cleansing lotion from Lush to try instead.

Mask of Magnaminty
Like I said my skin needs to seriously CALM DOWN, so I'm trying everything going! My sister uses this and loves it.

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara
I haven't actually ran out of my other tube of this yet but I saw it for £7 in The Cosmetics Company in Gunwharf and thought I'd stock up while it's cheap!

Barry M Gelly High Shine Nail Paint
I've seen lots of people talking about this and thought I'd see what all the fuss was about! Isn't it a lovely lilac :)

Motel Catalina Off Shoulder Dress
I ordered this a few weeks ago and wore it out on Valentines day, it's such a lovely colour and really comfortable!

Primark Super Skinny Jeans
These are amazing, my cheaper double of my Topshop Leigh jeans! More about this here...

That's all for my irresponsible spending!

Have you bought anything nice recently?

Thanks for reading!

Guest Post | Ruffling up some spring fashion

It’s safe to say spring is almost here, signalling a shift from old to new, dark to light; shade to sunshine.

One of the more tangible ways we can get a hold of the changing seasons is through the renewal and rejuvenation of our wardrobes. Let’s be honest – in winter we tend to hide and hibernate. Desperate to stay as warm as possible, we swamp and smother ourselves in the oversized, dark and knitted.

Which, of course, is fine – why shouldn’t we desire warmth and comfort when it’s cold outside?

However, it’s time to throw off the layers and let the light in. Spring fashion is here and with it comes a rainbow of new designs, colour, trends and styles.

One of the most flamboyant and frivolous of the top trends for spring 2013 is arguably the most striking: ruffles. Completely altering winter’s silhouette, it has been seen adding luxurious layers to blouses, shirts and dresses, all of which cut dashing figures in bright cerise and turquoise colours. Balenciaga, Ralph Lauren and Gucci were just a few of the big fashion houses showing how it’s done. These ruffles aren’t there to add an embellished finish – these ruffles are pure statement - pure drama on the shoulders of fluttering females.

This is all very well if you are a catwalk queen. Strutting down catwalks with parrot-sized ruffles on each shoulder works beautifully in the grand theatre of haute couture. However, how do the rest of us ordinary folk wear it with the same sort of panache?
Well, the more girly-girls among us can breathe easy. Pretty ruffles weren’t just stitched onto shoulders, but onto hemlines and sleeves too, meaning fans can team the trend with more ordinary items - like a pair of their favourite jeans or some wedge sandals.
Alternatively, heading to the high street will offer a more palatable range of catwalk trends – in particular this fondness for ruffles. Next has an entire range dedicated to the style - their textured waterfall blouse is probably the most wearable of the collection, working with absolutely everything, from skinny jeans to pencil skirts for work, depending on a day or night look. The top is available in dusky pink, polka dot and floral print, so one of each should certainly set you off to a good start. There are other lovely and subtle touches too – a black ruffle cape is a delicate and dignified way of wrapping the trend around any outfit on those cooler days.

Like with all trends, wear it the way you want to – with your own style at the heart of it.

Topshop Leigh Jean dupes!

Hello! How are you?
Just a quick one to alert you to a mega bargain, incase you didn't know..
I have been buying Topshop Leigh Jeans for years because they are the comfiest things known to man but at £40 they aren't the cheapest. And every pair I've had has ended up worn and rather holey, so not even really good quality for the price!
I was in Primark the other day and spotted these Super Skinny jeans going for all of £11! They are exactly the same cut, they are made of that lovely thin material like the leigh ones and Primark have most of the same colour range as Topshop!
Now these are probably similar quality and will probably wear and tear just the same as the leigh ones, but I'd much rather spend £11 on jeans that will only last about a year (yeah I wear them A LOT) than £40!

Do you love these kind of jeans as much as I do?

Monday I'm in Love

Hellooo! How are you?
I don't  know about you but I absolutely love finding one off, original shops! Whether it be in real life or online, I think it's so special to get a one off piece that no one else will have, and a lot of the time you can find things for a bargain price! It really pays off to take some extra time browsing smaller companies rather than falling into Topshop and falling out with the same things that everyone else is wearing. (Don't mistake me, Topshop is amazing but on one too many occasions I've been forced to bow my head and  pretend not to notice when someone in EXACTLY the same outfit as me walks past!)

I stumbled across this cute little boutique whilst I was browsing through ASOS Marketplace, it's called Monday I'm In Love and it's sooo lovely! The head designer Kylie Malcolm has worked in fashion for 15 years and all this experience is visible in her quirky designs. Go and check the boutique out here and see below my five favourite pieces from the collection...

That's all for now!
You can also find Monday I'm In Love on Facebook and Twitter, like/follow for updates on the collection!

Kylie has also kindly sent me one of these pieces to giveaway to one of you! Look out for that coming soon!

Hope you enjoyed this post!

How I'd Style | Next Neon Peplum Top

I was online shopping and avoiding doing uni work, as usual, and this neon peplum top from next caught my eye. I always try and think of at least two different outfits I could create with something before I buy it (my way of convincing myself that expensive clothes are worth it!) And I thought this would look great for a night out! I love the Neon trend but I'm too pale to pull off anything too dramatic, so this top is perfect :)
What do you think?

Totally 90's!

I've developed a bit of an obsession... I've recently been to a 90's weekend at Butlins for my friend Nadine's 21st birthday and danced the night away to Sclub 3 (!), and I've been glued to watching My Mad Fat Diary on E4 and LOVING all the 90's music and fashion! And it seems I'm not the only one, Wildfox have created a collection entirely inspired by Clueless! It's amazing, go and check it out if you haven't already. Below are my four favourite pieces from the collection...

I've also discovered that I was quite a fashion forward child ;) Below are some really old photos (don't laugh!) of me in the 90's sporting some trends from spring/summer! (Please excuse the dodgy fringe!)

Collar and sunglasses: ASOS, Pinafore and dress: Topshop

So that's all, hope you enjoyed the embarrassing pictures!

What's your favourite 90's trend?

Recipe | Granola

Hello! How are you?I've got another recipe post for you today as my last one got quite a lot of attention! This one is inspired by Sammi from Beauty Crush, I love all the health videos she's been doing lately and all the pictures of her cooking that she puts on Instagram are amazing! She uploaded a video of her making banana nut granola on Youtube a while ago and I thought I'd give it a go! I adapted it a little bit and here it is! :) Hope you enjoy!
1. You will need: Oats (3 cups), honey/maple syrup (1/3 cup), oil (1/3 cup), nuts, raisins, cinnamon (1 tsp), nutmeg (1/4 tsp), salt (pinch).2. Add the oil to a mixing bowl, 3. Add 1/3 cup of honey, 4. Add the cinnamon, nutmeg and a pinch of salt, 5. Mix into a rather unattractive looking paste,6. Add the oats cup by cup and stir in, if you don't have enough oats the mixture will be too wet and if you have too may it will be too dry (add a tad more oil and honey).7. Add whatever kind of nuts you'd like, 8. Add raisins or any other kind of dried fruit you want in your granola,Bake in the oven at 200 C for 10 minutes, then mix/turn over and place back in the oven for another 10/15 mins and that's it!
Hope you liked this! Let me know if you make it yourself :)

Review | Wella Luxe Oil

Hey! How are you all?
I haven't done any reviews in aaaages so I've got one for you today! This was given to me whilst I was on my internship when they were having a clear out, I've always used hair masks and intensive conditioner as my hair can get quite dry so I was really excited to give this a go.

Wella say

'It uses a reconstructive Transform Technology that benefits hair inside and out, while protecting it from damage:
  • • Hair texture feels up to 10 times smoother after just one application.
  • • 3 times more Keratin Protection, providing instant and long-lasting, smoothness.
  • • Leaves hair looking healthy and naturally beautiful.
  • • Hair is easy to style every day, thanks to a special, lightweight oil formula.'
  • I Say
  • The first thing I noticed about this is the scent, it's actually really strong for a hair product and if you prefer unscented oils then you definitely wont like this. It took me a while to work it out but I knew it was a familiar smell, it took me back to my early teens, when I spritzed on my Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy before pulling my hair back into a pony tail and pulling two fringey bits down, and pulling on my denim skirt and trainers....hmm. I have no desire to look like that again but the smell of Britney Spears isn't too bad, it's strong but doesn't last too long on the hair... thankfully.

It is a really lovely consistency and makes my hair really soft, I can definitely tell the difference on days I've forgotten to use it! And like it says in the description, it is very long lasting as well, I apply some when I wash my hair and can still feel how soft it's made it on the second day!

As I said, I was given this for free but I've just learned that it's £19.95 for 100ml which is rather pricey! I'm not sure if I'd have bought this for that price beforehand, but it is a lovely product, has great effects and you only need the tiniest bit so even 100ml will last a long time, so it is worth the money. More of a luxury product than a necessity though. (buy here)

That's all!
Have you tried this or any other hair oils?

What did you think? Are there any that are similar but not as pricey?

Thanks for reading!
