Review | Lush 9 to 5 cleansing lotion

Hello! How are you?
I have a review for you today! I bought this a few weeks ago and showed you in my haul, and a few of you wanted to see a review so here you are :) I bought the 95g bottle for £4.75 as I wanted to try it before committing to the big £9.25 bottle! I've been using Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish for a while now and really like it but I've found that it really wasn't doing much for my skin. If I forgot to use it for even one day my skin would get really bad and take about a week to clear up again! I just wanted something that would calm my skin down and keep it that way.

Lush say
A simple yet beautiful liquid facial cleanser for those times when you’re in a hurry and need to just cleanse and go.
We make this by steeping fresh dove orchids in almond oil overnight – then strain the petals out and use the infused oil as the base for this cleanser. Contains a lovely light fragrance of honeysuckle and ylang ylang.
9 to 5 will gently remove all traces of dirt, grease and make up without dragging the skin. You will be left feeling fresh, clean and ready to start the day. Although you might also want to pour yourself a cup of ambition.
This is a really old formula of Mark’s, from back in the early days of his career, when he first started out making beautiful traditional herbal inspired products. It wouldn’t go away and leave him, because so many people have asked for its return. We have brought it back in its original glory and renamed it 9 to 5 after the Dolly Parton song and in recognition that today’s woman often has very little time in a busy schedule.

I say
It's everything it says and more, it's so gentle on the skin but still manages to remove all my makeup. And it's really light and fresh but still manages to leave my skin feeling moisturised. It smells lovely and it feels lovely and in the few weeks I've been using it, it's really improved my skin.

The only thing I would say is I use quite a lot of it each time so I don't imagine it will last very long, I'll definitely get the big bottle next time though and maybe it won't seem to go down as quickly!

Overall I think this is a really lovely cleanser, and an alternative to Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish if you had the same problem with it as me! AND I love that it's named after a Dolly Parton song too! Cute!

Have you tried this?

How do you find Liz Earle Cleanser?

Thanks for reading!

  1. This sounds really nice I had never really considered it before! I already promised myself I wouldn't buy a new cleanser until I have finished one of the two I have at the moment! I really like Lush's ultrabland cleanser too :)

  4. I've never thought to try Lush for their beauty products. All I ever see is bath bombs splashed here there and everywhere but it makes sense that their facial products would be super gentle on the skin. Thank you for sharing.
